Dr. Gerren Q. Brittian

Chiropractor & Founder of Brittian Chiropractic Center

Dr. Brittian is a native of Newnan, Georgia. He initially moved to North Carolina to pursue his undergraduate studies. Dr. Brittian attended Lenoir-Rhyne University where he lettered four years in football and achieved “all league” honors in the process. He graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training and he received his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) Cum Laude from Life University of Marietta, Georgia. Dr Briitian relocated to Winston Salem in early 2010 to pursue his passion in chiropractic, with his primary focus on family care with an emphasis on wellness. Dr. Brittian is passionate about serving The Triad and surrounding communities for years to come.

Dr. Brittian states:

“My initial encounter with chiropractic, very similar to most doctors of chiropractic, stemmed from being a patient first. Toward the end of my collegiate football career I injured my lower back during a routine workout. I initially tried pain pills and rest, however, the pain was too intense and there was no comfort to be found. Knowing that chiropractors were the “back doctors” I proceeded to seek out care after a long discussion with a friend who was currently a chiropractic patient. Upon my initial consultation and exam, I noticed something was different about the chiropractic approach to healthcare. A few weeks into care my lower back pain was non-existent, but I also started noticing other changes taking place within my body. Mainly, a severe swelling that I frequently encountered on a bi-weekly basis known as Angioedema had begun to decrease. Others in the medical profession could not find a cause or solution in the past; thus, they termed it “Idiopathic Anigoedema”. Yet, I was, and still am, getting results from my chiropractor to help this. As I progressed in my care, I noticed the occurrence of the episodes to be of greater distance apart. When I asked my chiropractor how this could be, he explained that chiropractic was not merely the solution for musculoskeletal neck and back pain, but rather the solution to a compromised nervous system. “When there is nothing impeding the function of your nervous system you are able to adapt better to internal and external stressors the body may encounter. The rest, as they say, is history. I decided to focus my studies to become a doctor of chiropractic.”

The main principle of chiropractic is based upon the fact that EVERY function in the body is under the total control of the central nervous system. The nervous system must operate at 100% without interference for optimal health. When you think about it the body doesn’t need help when it comes to healing, you don’t have to tell your finger to heal when you get a cut, right? Without interference the body has an amazing innate ability to heal itself. Unfortunately, as a society all we do is interfere with our body’s natural process. Physical, chemical, and emotional stresses all lead to nerve interference, for example, a poor diet, lack of exercise, accidents, and bad attitudes. The result is pain, lack of energy, and poor health.

Our centers utilize state-of-the-art adjusting techniques, physiotherapy, rehab exercise, and nutritional counseling to help our patients toward optimal health and wellness. Dr. Brittian is excited to provide these services for Winston Salem and its surrounding communities.

Dr. Brittian’s hobbies include music, attending various sporting events around the city, dogs, and the pursuit of new knowledge gained from each day’s experiences.
